GUITAR and VOCALS

Sterling Barrett began playing the guitar at age 10, learning classic rock music by bands such as AC/DC, and Led Zeppelin. Having grown up in the Pentecostal church, he honed his skill as a guitarist and singer with the Christian rock band “Father’s Child.” Following the disbanding of Father’s Child in 2013, Sterling served as a worship leader in multiple churches before leaving the church to pursue secular music in 2020.

After leaving the church, Sterling began playing solo acoustic shows around the metro Atlanta area until hooking up with the other founding members of CHESS. Sterling is often recognized by his signature “Bear” logo (pictured below).
